We are participating in the Scratch Education Collaborative (SEC)

We have been one of the 41 organizations from 13 countries selected to participate in the first year of the Scratch Education Collaborative (SEC). The SEC is a powerful network of organizations across the world focused on supporting learners from historically marginalized communities in developing their confidence with creative computing.   Last Monday was the kick-off event, and during the first year of the SEC, the Scratch Foundation with the help of other partners (Raspberry Pi Foundation, Stanford d. MonTech KOM

On February 16 and 17, we organized the Kick-off meeting of the MonTech Project. This is a new Erasmus+ project where UdiGitalEdu is the coordinator.   For three years, we will design and implement methods and approaches inspired by Montessori pedagogy, rethinking its materials, and adding a new dimension of maker education, through the use of different technologies for creative learning. Hacking Public Art with Scratch at the Maker Faire Girona

During the Maker Faire Girona 2020 (Dec 2-6), the UdiGitalEdu group participated with a workshop entitled “Hacking public art with Scratch”.   It was a workshop designed to be carried out online, due to the restrictions caused by the COVID. Families, children and some teachers participated in the activity.   The idea was that each participant, prior to the workshop, would take photos of public art in their immediate vicinity, and then during the workshop we would play with those photos using Scratch, to achieve very fun and creative effects, such as bringing a sculpture or a painting to life….

The TEKHNÉ Chair of Thinking, Technology and Creative Learning

UdiGitalEdu has participated in the creation of the new TEKHNÉ Chair, a collaborative project between the University of Girona and the Salt Town Council. The TEKHNÉ Chair designs actions and projects to transform the educational ecosystem of Salt. The Chair will promote the study, research and dissemination of knowledge at the intersection of the fields of Education, Technology and Human Development, through the organization of training, research, debate and dissemination activities. The DIVERSE project keeps on moving forward

The global situation regarding the COVID has affected the DIVERSE project in several ways. Specifically, the Training the trainers event that was to be held in Girona will be carried out online.   In this event, which will be held during January and February, there will be participants from the 6 countries of the consortium, and they will receive training in the three methods of the project: Drama in Education, Folk Tales and Digital Storytelling.   UdiGitalEdu team will focus on leading the training in Digital Storytelling with Scratch.   The project has already successfully completed the phase of analysing…

The DIVERSE project is taking its first steps

UdiGitalEdu is participating in a new European Erasmus+ project called DIVERSE. The initiative is coordinated by Action Sinergy, from Greece, and partners from four other countries participate: Italy, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary. The project aims to improve the management of diversity in multicultural schools, through the promotion and development of three methods: drama in education, storytelling, and digital storytelling. UdiGitalEdu participates as an expert in the use of digital storytelling in education. GlobalChangemakers és una plataforma que permet crear connexions entre mestres de diferents escoles llançada en el marc del projecte de recerca. Més de mil nens i nenes ja l’utilitzen per realitzar intercanvis culturals i crear conjuntament històries digitals sobre la sostenibilitat. Evaluation of the 1st Year InventEUrs meeting, Perugia, Italy

InventEUrs project (www.inventeurs.eu) , coordinated by UdigitalEdu, has reached its half of the project lifetime by attending to the 3rd project meeting held in the partner facilities of University of Perugia, Italy from the 19 to the 21st of February 2018.   Overall, the meeting goals were achieved: final children projects has been finished and can be seen at the InventEUrs scratch studio (https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/4443203/ ), the results of the first year of the project were evaluated, a draft of the project platform was presented and some partners were filmed to be included in the MOOC.     Moreover, the consortium…
